For an immediate effect I would consider re-working your wording on the homepage to make it more clear. Secondly, "Get Started" should not be at the top of the homepage, how can you get started before you know what your doing? Maybe switch the intro text with the "Get Started" bit. Also, once you leave the homepage, there is no easy access to the "Get Started" bit, so your left a bit lost and having to go back to home to find anything.
And lastly, "

Content like that should not be on your homepage, tone it down with some more light-hearted messages. |

Sponsor | | digits | May 10, 1:24pm | you want higher conversions? people are smarter than, i think, the site is assuming. let a person submit a comment FIRST and then say "to get notified when someone reports on YOU or this other person YOU have reported on, register!" or "to see other comments on other numbers, register."
that's the ticket. that's how i'd do it! i almost submitted a comment about a number but then saw i had to sign up. so i came here to tell you where it stopped me. then my brain said, "nah. not worth the potential spam."
