New to Dreamweaver and NEED HELP!

DizzyDeMar 26, 8:00am
I have set up a website using tables and I have included flash text and one button which work perfectly. I added a logo and flash photos which appear and work fine in Dreamweaver itself but when I "test" the page images and the flash element do not appear. What am I doing wrong? PLEASE HELP!

There is no way to know what is wrong without the code or a link.

I'm not sure what link I could give you since I am currently working on it locally and not through a server. As for a code, can you please explain. As I said, I'm new to this. I built my own website awhile ago and it's complete and now I'm building a second site and having difficulties. Here's MY completed site. I know this won't help you in figuring out what my current problem is, but here it is anyway ... ddzignz.com [ddzignz.com] -- on it you can see that the flash element is working (or at least I hope it is) and images show up. But on the new site nothing shows except text links and text. If you can tell me exactly what you need to look at the new site I will try to provide it for you. Thanks

Hmm. When you "test" the page, how are you doing so? Does Dreamweaver send the file to the browser? If so, which one? Firefox?

"Testing" in Dreamweaver is simply saving the file and having Dreamweaver open it for you in a browser. You can specify IE, Firefox, whichever you want.

Without code no one can really help you, and even then if we don't see a mistake right off the bat, figuring out the exact thing messing you up may take a while.

Pull the Flash element out of the tables and CSS, and place it at the top of the page, see if it works. Does it work in a blank html page by itself? Then proceed to test it inside one or more of the layout elements on the page. Somewhere in that process you will find out what is stopping it from working.

PS - On your ddzignz.com [ddzignz.com], it looks really bad to have an aol address.

jyodis is right,
Also check to make sure your links are linking to the correct place. One thing i like to do is visit W3schools.com and use their handy Tryit Editor.

w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp [w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp]

Its a quick and easy way to check your work.
